Hugo Nominations!


The 2022 Hugo Award finalists have been announced and EA is honored to have picked up multiple nominations!

We are thrilled to announce that both Escape Pod and PodCastle are again finalists for the Hugo Award for Best Semiprozine!

Congratulations to both teams:

  • Escape Pod editors S.B. Divya, Mur Lafferty, and Valerie Valdes, assistant editors Benjamin C. Kinney and Premee Mohamed, guest editor Brent C. Lambert, hosts Tina Connolly and Alasdair Stuart, audio producers Summer Brooks and Adam Pracht, and the entire Escape Pod team.

The Hugo Awards will be presented at the 80th World Science Fiction Convention, Chicon 8, on Sunday, September 4th in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Attending members are eligible to vote in the Hugo Awards (learn more about membership options).

PodCastle is an Aurora Award finalist!


Congratulations to Jen R. Albert, Cherea Clark, Setsu Uzume, Peter Behravesh, and the entire PodCastle team for their Aurora Award nomination for Best Related Work! 

EA also extends its congratulations to

  • Premee Mohamed for BENEATH THE RISING as a Best Novel finalist, and
  • Jen R. Albert for the ephemera reading series as a Best Related Fan Work finalist

The Aurora Awards will be presented via a virtual ceremony during Can-Con in Ottawa on 16 October, 2021. Voting begins 31 July, 2021 and closes at 11:59 pm EDT on September 4, 2021.

The Aurora awards are voted on by the members of the Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Association (CSFFA), a national registered non-profit society.  Membership is open to all Canadian citizens and permanent residents for just $10 per calendar year.  The finalists are all Canadians who were nominated by our members for original works done in 2020.

Jen R Albert and Khaalidah Muhammad-Ali are World Fantasy nominees!


Massive congratulations to Jen and Khaalidah for their nomination in the Special Award – Non-Professional category for PodCastle!

Nominations were sourced from members of the current year’s convention, as well as the previous two years attendees and a panel of judges. This year’s award judges are David Anthony Durham, Christopher Golden, Juliet E. McKenna, Charles Vess, and Kaaron Warren.

The winners of the 2018 World Fantasy Awards will be announced at the World Fantasy Convention, November 1-4, 2018 in Baltimore, Maryland.
